GastonRadiology (GRAD), a physician-led independent practice, has proudly served thegreater Charlotte, NC metro area since 1949. We are seeking a full-timeInterventional Radiologist to join our team of 22 radiologists in a dynamic,growing practice. What You'll Do

As an Interventional Radiologistat GRAD, you will perform a broad range of image-guided procedures that arecentral to patient care across our service area. In this role, you will:

•    Perform a broad range of interventional procedures,including angioplasty, stent placement, percutaneous biopsies (CT-,ultrasound-, or fluoroscopy-guided), and drain placements.

•    Provide diagnostic and therapeutic interventions forcomplex patients in close coordination with referring teams.

•    Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, hospitalists,and other specialists to deliver seamless, coordinated care.

•    Interpret CT, MRI, and ultrasound studies relevant tointerventional procedures.

•    Use modern technology platforms (PACS, EPIC, McKesson,Powerscribe 360) to enhance patient outcomes and clinical workflows.

•    Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings,contributing IR expertise on complex and high-risk cases.

•    Help develop and expand the group’s IR service line —including potential growth in areas such as neurointerventions, advancedoncologic interventions, and minimally invasive therapies — aligned with yourinterests.

•    Engage in quality improvement and continuousprofessional development to advance standards of care.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

•    MD or DO degree

•    Completed ACGME-accredited Diagnostic Radiologyresidency

•    Completed ACGME-accredited Interventional Radiologyfellowship (or equivalent)

•    Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Boardof Radiology

•    Eligible for North Carolina medical licensure

•    Strong proficiency in interventional radiologyprocedures (angioplasty, biopsies, drain placements, etc.)

•    Expertise in CT, MRI, and ultrasound interpretationrelated to interventional procedures

Technical Competencies

•    Procedural Skills — Skilled in a range ofinterventional procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, percutaneousbiopsies, and drain insertions.

•    Imaging Skills — Proficient in interpreting CT,MRI, and ultrasound studies to guide interventional procedures.

•    Technology Proficiency — Experience with PACS,EPIC, McKesson, Powerscribe 360 voice recognition, and other modern radiologyIT systems.

Work Environment & Physical Demands (ADA)

This role combines diagnosticinterpretation with hands-on procedural work in interventional suites.Essential functions include prolonged standing during procedures while wearinglead protective garments (typically 10–15 pounds), manual dexterity for catheterand wire manipulation, sustained visual focus on high-resolution andfluoroscopic monitors, and clear communication with the interventional team.The role also involves extended periods of seated workstation use, occasionallifting of equipment up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching, and the ability torespond promptly to urgent and emergent cases.
